TIPS - STORING YOUR MAPLE SYRUP
Whether it's our syrup (of course it's GVF Maple) or another, we want to make sure you have all the tools necessary to keeping your maple syrup in its best shape.
This is where the topic of storing/storage comes in:
FRIDGE?
YES
While the storage life of most maple syrup is 2 years, it's still important to make sure it's kept in a cool, dry place. If the seal is broken/syrup is opened, it's best to keep in a refrigerator while unopened bottles can be kept on kitchen shelves or anywhere out of direct sunlight.
DIRECT SUNLIGHT?
NO
Leaving syrup (especially in a glass container) in direct sunlight or in any intense light will only cause your syrup to loose its optimal flavor and encourage the growth of mold.
NO THANK YOU!
FREEZER?
YES
If you know you aren't going to be using your syrup for a while or bought a nice stock pile, freezing is a great option! Freezing not only preserves the fresh flavor but also prevents it from crystallizing. A huge bonus with freezing is that you can thaw and re-freeze it as many times as you want (make sure you let it thaw completely and mix any condensation on the top before using)!
